Although outside of the city centre, Casa de Romero is easily the best of three places I have stayed in Guayaquil. The hosts couldn't be nicer or more helpful for an out of towner with no idea of where to go or how to get there.

The host, Ellen, is super friendly and helpful. This 'hostel' is a house, a very nice one at that. breakfasts are tasty with great juices. Well organized, friendly hosts, clean and available facilities.getting in to the city can be tricky with public transport but manageable. Oh yea, later we found out that this is in the high-end area of the city. Restful stay.

STAY HERE! it's fantastic, the family are so friendly, cannot do enough for you and the accommodation is great. we stayed here on our first night after arriving in ecuador and returned here for our last night before flying out... we were welcomed back like old family friends!

We were picked up in a timely manner from the airport. Accommodations were great. Room was clean and spacious. Location is in suburbs away from city so taxi rides are required after 7pm. We visited during a slow period so there was only one other guest while we were there.

we enjoyed the 3 nights spending in Casa de Romero. The family was so helpful, warm and friendly to us. The peaceful location helped us to overcome our jetlag easily. Breakfast was very good and internet connection is provided. We felt like being at home!Thanks and see you soon. Maribel & Olaf

I am so glad of having stayed in Casa de Romero.First of all they are very welcoming, honest people.The housekeeper Ellen and Andrea and all the family are GREAT,they really make you feel at a truly LATINO home and they try to help you in everything.The hostel is located at 15 min from the city but in a very secure place so no roberies(there are public transports available at all times),they also have WIFI,a magnific garden and a nice swimming pool.
