Great hostel really cosy and felt very upmarket and comfortable for a hostel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My fav hostel in NZ, would definately stay there again.

Owners cat in the kitchen! It seems the owner feels she is unable to care for the cat herself so she has dumped it on the hostel staff. The food tray is in the kitchen beside the saucepans which the cat has been known to walk through. Although there are 2 washing machines they were in constant use cleaning bed linen. We were directed to use a laundrette 1 mile away. Only two male showers for entire hostel. Kitchen too small.

The place was ok. Staff were indifferent and it was very awkward having to go past the TV everytime we went to the bathroom. The female bathroom was fairly clean but the men's was disgusting. Wouldn't necessarily recommend staying here, but it's not terrible if you have no other choice.

I had trouble finding a car park as the hostel doesn't offer any & parking is scarce in the centre. Apart from that, the hostel is well-equipped, stylish & clean.

Best location so worth staying in. Seems to be converted office space so has a sterile feel (without being all that clean). I felt very sorry for the cat, who doesn't have much of a life. TV watching is encouraged and dominates the relaxation area. Staff are helpful, the dorm I stayed in was spacious. If you want to use the net, the one round the corner is much faster than the hostel's own net cafe.

Pretty much a great hostel in the best location in the city. Just mind the cat waking you up in the morning, I nearly died of a heart attack.

This is a nice hostel that is well located at keen prices.

I really liked this place. It had a well equipped kitchen and was in a perfect location. I was really surprised there were not more people there. The atmosphere was very pleasant - it didn't feel dormy or stale at all.
