This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms and bedrooms were incredibly nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Chinese Box is absolutely wonderful. Leo and the staff are truly my friends. Last visit they invited me to their HOT POT dinner, we laughed, talked for hours. Spotless, nothing that they won"t do to help you enjoy your trip. Hutong makes it so Chinese, interior gardens filled with plants, fish and lovely cats make me feel like I am at home. Please give this hostel a try if in Beijing. 5-star. Jeanie

Excellent place to stay. The staff gave us some great information on Beijing as well as the rest of China that helped make our stay more enjoyable. They went out of their way to help us when we had issues with our bank cards not working ie lending us money for our Great Wall Trip! They were really helpful when booking tickets and accommodation. Dumpling night was great. Watch out for the potent homemade brew though! Shower is to die for in the double rooms!

A lovely place,quite unique style,very helpful staff and super convenient location(by bus mostly).I wont forget the "UN" dumpling dinner ,the special Puer Tea and the 4 cute lazy adopted cats.So I definitely will choose BC again next time.

The staff are wonderful, and the hostel itself has a lot of character. I would stay here again. It is a bit of a walk from the subway though, but definitely do-able.

1 Staff are really familiar with Beijing and China tourism. They are also super friendly and helpful, enthusiastic to show guests GOOD RESTAURANTS and good places
2 Large and comfortable bed
3 Located in a local area, good for feeling local way of living
4 So much fun making and eating dumplings with guests and staff (FOR FREE)
5 Cosy common room with good atmosphere

1 Shower not strong enough

3 15-min walk to Metro
