great place to chill out. nothing to do around it though

The location is amazing and the owners really friendly...but the whole hostel is not really good maintained, neither clean and only has two rest rooms (one for men one for women)

The family that run this hostal are absolutely lovely. We stayed for New Year and although it rained had a lovely time. The owners cooked us a complimentary dinner on New Years Eve which was lovely and we recommend this hostal to anyone wanting a good clean friendly place to stay. Many thanks!

Nice place at a great beach. Very very quiet though. Good if you want to relax. Don't miss out on the great fish restaurant nextdoor.

Nice location (though isolated) and good breakfast. However "private bathroom" was in fact shared, and the owner refused to do anything about it - "you can always find another hostel". He was more interested in finding other surcharges to add. Shower was unsafe, gave electric shocks and was not even hot. No curtains on the windows so no lie-in.

the staff is very good and kindly, and the hostel is opposite the beach, for my was a real home in Brasil, Olga is like a mother with her guest. Very recomendable

After making two separate reservations at this hostel (a month apart), I made a series of attempts to contact the staff to confirm that my friend and I would be in the same room. They never replied. I took this as a bad sign and, given that we were traveling in the busiest travel week of the year, we made other arrangements. It was disappointing.

this is a great hostel with fantastic staff and in a great location on the beach. it is in a fairly quiet part of the island but the quality of the restaurants on pantano do sol and the people scenery more than make up for this.
