The hostel is fairly spartan, though there was nothing actually wrong with it. The hosts were helpful, allowing us to keep our luggage there even after checkout. The building is kind of far from the things you come to Bilbao to see, and the neighborhood was totally dead on a Friday night, but on the other hand it was quiet.

This must be the cleanest place on hostelworld and it's been recently refurbished. Bring your phrasebook as the staff don't speak a word of English. But they're extremely friendly and speak Spanish patiently and slowly. The location is 2 minutes walk from a rail station if you're going out of town (e.g. to the ferry port) and about 6 minutes walk from the tram which will get you around the edge of the town to places like the Guggenheim.
It's a very quiet and reserved place.
