Already planning on moving in next year for life. Amazing location. Staff are beyond helpful and stacks cool. Something good on every night and tours of the city are really cheap. And they have fresco ball.

This hostel is not worth the money, even though it has a perfect location. It urgently needs a deep cleaning. The infrastructure (mattress, kitchen, sanitary installations) are poor and filthy. Please reinvest some of the money u make!

I loved the Pirates. Brian was an awesome host and really made our stay in Rio. The street party, samba school and favella party are some of the highlights of my three months in South America. The hostel building itself is a bit ramshackle but that adds to the experience and I'm sure it will improve as the guys do more work on the place. Be ready to be dirty and hot but have buckets of fun.

At the first sight, the hostel doesnt look very good, but once you start meeting people (and believe you will), it is he best hostel in the world. There is always things going on and the management was great. I wouldnt have enjoyed Rio as much if I went to another hostel for sure. Thanks very much to Brian and Priscilla!

This hostel was great!!! Brian was particularly friendly and really, really helpful - without him our stay in Rio would have been much more boring. He organised so many events for us around the city & took us to places other tourists didn`t go - like the Funky party in the favela! Rio was amazing, and there was always a great bunch of people & fun times at this hostel. I would definitely stay there again!

Had a really great time at the hostel, big ups to Brian for really making the effort to make the place great. Good daily events, overall nice people staying and working there. I ended up staying twice as long as planned. Rooms can be a little messy if your a clean freak, I'm not though :)
