It is a bit far away from the sparkeling world of Tianjin. The staff was not really chatty BUT very helpful when it comes to give directions to taxi drivers. It is a decent place to sleep, but thats it. Luckily taxis are so cheap, so the slightly remote location is not a problem.

Clean place with a nice room of books, movies, info for travelers. Showers were gross, but room was very clean. Ferry pick up was a bit overpriced. The staff wasn't rude, but certainly not friendly.

no towels, even if you would like to rent any. heating is poor and air-conditioner has no remote, so you can not to switch it on. you have DVD-player and TV in the room, and downstairs can borrow some films, so it is ok. Locality is not bad, neighbourhood is classical Chinese - building sites everywhere, mess. but by cab about 20RMB to center. Enough for one or two nights stands.

One of the best places I have ever been so far! This hostel is run by two Chinese who know a lot about the needs of (Western) foreigners and support them in every way possible. Nice and clean rooms, perfect management with excellent English skills, a huge DVD videotheque in many languages (player on each room). Clean and nice room. The staff here were really friendly and helpful. The hostel is close to a huge market which you might find a lot of fun there. They serve intercontinental breakfast too.

This hostel was very welcoming. The whole hostel was incredibly clean and the staff was so nice and helpful. I had a great time staying here and would recommend it to anyone staying in Tianjin.

Overpriced as everything seems to be for the Beijing Olympics. Also, no refunds! If you're desperate stay there... But, China is cheep so look around for better!
