Right in the middle of Fox Glacier, but not a good choice if you are looking for a "hostel like" atmosphere as it doesn't have a "social" room. There is a kitchen and the showers are clean, with enough free hot water. The staff can help you to book glacier walks or helicopter flights.

This hostel keeps all doors unlocked and wide open all night long. Did not feel safe here at all. You have to use the buddy system just to go to the toilet. Also, it is more of a restaurant than a hostel. Hostel comes 2nd.

Very nice mgrs but there's no common facilities and it just feels a little desolate - except when there aren't large tour groups. You no longer need to pay for the shower - and it was quite good. There was TV in the room.

Showers were very poor either hot water or pressure, not both. no fridge in the kitchen. Kitchen was pretty sparse, but at least the rooms were secure and had their own tv.

We booked a 2 bed dorm and were very happy to get a double bed. Just off main street, clean rooms, clean bathrooms. Big kitchen, although was no fridge when we stayed.

When I arrived at 7pm, the reception was already closed & it took me over 20mins to find someone to help me check-in. You also have to put coins into a slot machine in order to get hot water for your shower - I was lucky I had some coins on me!
