Karibu at the Shamba Bed&Breakfast in the green hills of the Central Higlands, afoot the Mount Kenia- and Aberdare-National Park. Wether you just stay for a night or for two weeks you shall feel welcome and truly feel at home. If you want a change from just another tourist hotel Mahinda offers you a place to relax before you go on with your travel or to stay for while with him.The house sits within a large shamba (garden) in a rural area. A small veranda opens into a large living room with a separate dining area. To the right side of the living are two separate guestrooms and a separate bathroom for our guests. You will have a truly kenian experience off the beaten track. Since the rate is including full board (as well as the pickup from Ihururu or Nyeri Town) we wil be happy to serve you local and traditionell food, mostly out of produce from the own garden (shamba). You are more than welcome to help harvesting your dinner.Part of the compound is a large fruit and vegetable garden (Shamba), where among other things maize, sweet potatoes, bananas, arrowroot and potatoes are grown. Depending on the season you may pick mangoes, passionfruits, physalis, pomegranate and more for your breakfast table. Due to an unsecured well and a new fishpond the compound is unfortunately not yet suited for small children. We want you to feel at home and experience Kenya like you could never do as a mere tourist! Regenerate, explore the Central Highands, get to know the heartland and tradition of the kikuyu.
